Wild in Art Brings the Natural World into Classrooms

in an Explosion of Fun, Creativity and Colour…

“The subjects that make up cultural learning can enable children to excel, boost confidence and put them on a path to progression through to adult life regardless of how they perform in more conventional subjects. Cultural learning must be at the core of the overall curriculum.”

David Adjaye, Architect

If you are a school, youth organisation or community group there are lots of ways of getting involved with Wild in Art.

Events

We specialised in integrating a Schools Programme into every animal inspired, mass participation public art spectacular ensuring that young people are at the heart of all our events. This year Wild in Art was delighted to have welcomed thousands of school children to events in Bournemouth and Bristol and we look forward to working with many more in 2012. To be the first to hear about events happening in your area, make sure you check our website regularly and sign up to our newsletter.

If you are not located in the vicinity of one of our events, your school is still able to access our engaging formula of cross-curricular learning and creativity by selecting an animal from our portfolio of sculptures and creating your own wildlife masterpiece.

Individual School Projects

Colston

Our individual packages provide schools with an opportunity to adopt your own animal and provide an engaging stand-alone arts project that unites the classroom through creativity, learning and debate.  Many schools have used their sculpture to deliver and enliven aspects of the national curriculum or address issues as diverse as global citizenship, anti-bullying or topical issues such the environmental awareness and the healthy living.

Alternatively a number of school inspired by our projects decide to work in collaboration with local businesses and partner cluster group schools to create show-stopping exhibitions of their own. Follow the link to our Case Studies page to see a selection of examples.

“I would imagine if it were possible to total the number of people – children and adults who will be touched in some positive way by this project, and to balance this against the monetary costs, that penny for penny this has been one of the ‘best investments’ of the year.”

Rosemary Burton, Teacher, Chapel-en-le-Frith High School, Derbyshire
