Wild in Art’s sculptures are unique and extraordinary 3-D canvases that generate great excitement when they are introduced to a classroom.
Each animal is primed and ready to paint when it arrives and once your masterpiece is complete it can be exhibited inside or installed in your school grounds.
So, whether you decide to use paints or experiment with collage and mosaic, every project can be as big as your students’ imaginations. Our school sculptures are the perfect size for a year group activity but each animal is available in a larger size for schools who want to make an even bigger statement!
An ambitious student from St. Francis de Sales Junior School, Liverpool makes the finishes touches to Kumasi: a penguin wearing traditional Ashanti designs that have been created from mud!
The process of creating and producing a design for a Wild in Art sculpture is in many respects just as valuable as the finished piece of work. The first step is for teachers to decide on their learning objectives and choose an animal, from Wild in Art’s wide range of sculptures that best suits these aims. For example, several schools have used our Baby Elephant as motivation to stamp out bullying, our frog to celebrate the creation of new outdoor areas and our penguin to broaden understanding about our impact on the globe.
“Our pupils thought about the Antarctic environment and how they imagined it might feel if they were to visit. Mr. I C Touch uses icy textures, cold colours and glass beads which form a message in Braille on his front”.
Angie McManus, St. Vincent’s School for Blind and Partially Sighted Children
