Wild in Art Events

Wild in Art is creating two magnificent live events for 2008. Go Superlambananas for Liverpool as European Capital of Culture ‘08 and Go Elephants in Norwich.

SuperLambananasSuperLambBanana, originally created by Taro Chiezo for Art Transpenine in 1998 is one of the city’s most iconic pieces of public art and it is to be replicated and celebrated throughout the summer in the most entertaining of ways. Wild in Art are managing all aspects of the event from engaging with the artistic and public and private sectors through to the event management aspects of delivering an event of such scale.

As a pillar event in the Capital of Culture , Go Superlambananas is simultaneously working with the city’s communities through a range of artists, arts organisations, community groups and residents’ associations to create work that will sit proudly and with equality across the city next to the work of international artists and celebrities.

This is part of the strength of Wild in Art – the skill of delivering international class events, whilst engaging a city at its roots. This makes for events that can satisfy on all levels. From the animated joy of families enjoying the unrivalled sight of a group of Superlambananas to the measurable positive outcomes that cultural strategists can account for from the project and the glamour that a combination of art, celebrity and tourism can bring.

If it is the surreal Superlambanana that will be adding the colour and verve to Liverpool’s streets this summer, the flatlands of Norwich will be taken over by an urban safari as Go Elephant hits the capital of Norfolk.

SuperElephantsWild in Art has teamed up with the Born Free Foundation and The Forum Trust to transform the historic streets of Norwich into the home of specially commissioned baby elephants. (PIC) This superb city-wide event will show the dynamism of Wild in Art in bringing together conservation organisations, education, artists and the communities of Norwich to produce a superb event in which all participating can take pride and all attending can enjoy for the multi-coloured landscape it creates. Wild in Art carefully chooses the partners with whom it works to not only produce quality events and canvasses, but also looks to create partnerships around the world to promote the core message of creativity, conservation, and citizenship. Go Elephants in Norwich sees the first collaboration with The Born Free Foundation and should be the start of a series of partnerships to spread the message of conservation through the medium of participatory art.
