A technicolour tower of 30 giant Giraffe sculptures has hoofed it into the city, standing proud and ready for you to discover over the summer.
Worcester Stands Tall 9 July – 16 September
Find the 8ft tall Giraffes sponsored by local businesses and painted by artists in Worcester’s streets, parks and open spaces. Twenty-seven cute Giraffe calves carefully crafted by schools and community groups join the giant Giraffes on the six-mile trail.
Making a big impression, Girafficorn by Alison Turner is beautifully adorned in broken and discarded pottery, vintage china, tiles and glass to create a quirky and contemporary artwork. Look out for Touch the Wishing Stars designed by celebrated singer Toyah Wilcox and painted by artist Rachel Blackwell. Diversity Is Us by Amrit Singh aims to remind us that we were all born to stand out.
Grab a trail map from Worcester Tourist Information Centre, Worcester Cathedral, Crowngate Shopping Centre and the Worcester Stands Tall pop-up shop. Also in the shopping centre, Giraffe calves are on display showcasing the creativity of the schools project, which is supported by West Midland Safari Park.
Pop along to the Worcester Stands Tall pop-up shop for unique mementos – including hand knitted and crocheted cuddly Giraffe toys.
