Mali in the City was Wild in Art’s first event in Australia. The flagship event of Melbourrne Zoo’s 150th anniversary celebrations, Mali in the City saw a herd of 50 artist designed sculptures of the Zoo’s famous Asian elephant calf Mali, on display across Melbourne.

Embracing Wild in Art’s passion for engaging with local schools, 50 ‘mini-Malis‘ were also decorated by local primary schools and displayed around the city.
After the event, the entire herd went under the hammer at an Auction event with all proceeds going to Melbourne Zoo’s conservation work to help fight the extinction of animals in Australia and overseas.
