Snowdogs: Tails in Wales 2017

Snowdogs bound into Cardiff!

On 12 December 2017 the Snowdogs: Tails in Wales pack raised a fur-bulous £121,200 at auction and a further £50,000 through the Learning Programme.

Colourful and creative designs by artists including the famous McCoo artist Steven Brown, fashion designer Julien Macdonald OBE, Cardiff-born artist Pete Fowler of Super Furry Animals fame, and Welsh artist Rhiannon Roberts, raised smiles this autumn as the Snowdogs turned Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan into a free, fun outdoor gallery. After surprise lots, guest appearances, hundreds of bidders and three hours of nail biting excitement, 44 incredible works of art helped make this Christmas a magical one for  Hafan children’s hospice.

16 September – 26 November 2017

We’re excited to be working with the paw-some Penguin Ventures once again to bring our first Snowdog Art Trail to Wales. More than 40 mighty Snowdog sculptures individually decorated by different artists including Julian McDonald OBE and Steven Brown, as well as 57 pups created by local schools and community groups, have been unleashed in Cardiff and beyond.

Snowdogs: Tails in Wales will be the biggest ever public art trail in Wales, highlighting the iconic landmarks and stunning open spaces of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Organised with children’s hospice charity Tŷ Hafan and publishers Penguin Random House, the event is inspired by The Snowman™ and the Snowdog, the animated sequel to Raymond Briggs’ iconic book and film The Snowman™.
