Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation

Our first art trail in Western Australia, The Big Splash WA sees us working with Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation and making waves with a pod of colourful dolphin sculptures painted by local artists.

Mental health is one of the top three most important issues for young Western Australians. The trail aims to raise awareness of mental health issues and raise funds to support innovative programs at Perth Children’s Hospital for children and adolescents with severe mental health disorders who are at significant risk.

“This is doing something creative, fun and at the same time has a message about mental health; it’s just a really good way to get around a taboo topic.

And I love that dolphins were chosen. They are social animals, they get sad, travel in communities, and they have been linked to mental health and the importance of connection.”

Caroline Goossens, Perth Children’s Hospital director of clinical child and adolescent mental health services

Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation are the main fundraising body for Princess Margaret Hospital and the soon to open Perth Children’s Hospital as well as the wider Child & Adolescent Health Service in Western Australia.
