Wild in Art was commissioned by the Greater London Authority to produce a major street animation programme across city of London throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Stroll: Discovery Trails presented a series of six unique walks signposting some of the city’s greatest sights and sounds. The trails were brought to life by over 80 individually designed and created replicas of the official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic mascots of Wenlock and Mandeville, all highlighting the routes which millions of tourists and residents took during the summer.
Countrywide, previously commissioned artists were deployed to create the most beautiful interpretations of some of London’s most iconic locations, its characters and distinguishing characteristics – from Big Ben to Spitalfields Market, St Paul’s to Regent’s Park. You could bump into a Ceremonial Speaker in Westminster, a Yeoman of the Guard at the Tower of London and Sherlock Holmes in Baker Street. Each of the professional artists worked painstakingly on the detail and the quality of the work was simply outstanding.
