Look up! Giraffe About Town takes over Edinburgh

The latest Wild in Art trail, Giraffe About Town, in partnership with Edinburgh Zoo, is a free art trail showing off more than 40 giraffe sculptures that will take you on a journey across Scotland’s capital.

The Giraffes are on display until 29th August, highlighting iconic spots and hidden gems from Edinburgh Airport to Leith.

This trail has been designed to celebrate Edinburgh’s heritage and cultural diversity. It will also help the city recover after lockdown and raise much needed funds for wildlife conservation.

Each incredible sculpture has been sponsored by local businesses, community groups and education organisations.

They have then been decorated by local artists, communities, and school children to celebrate Edinburgh and to encourage everyone to explore the city’s hidden gems and iconic locations.

Watch sponsor Sidey’s Q&A with their sculpture artist, illustrator and designer Suzanne Scott.

There will be a fabulous farewell weekend at Edinburgh Zoo before the giraffe sculptures are auctioned to raise funds to support Edinburgh Zoo’s conservation projects in Scotland and across the world. The sculptures will find new homes across the city, ensuring a fitting legacy for the people and communities of Edinburgh.

The money raised at auction will help fund the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland. The wildlife conservation charity aims to create a world which protects, values, and loves nature.
