4 locations. 49 sculptures. Endless Gratitude.

Gratitude is a spectacular public art installation celebrating and honouring the contribution of NHS Staff and all key workers for their ongoing courage and dedication during the pandemic. Opening in Birmingham in August 2021 ahead of a free to visit tour taking in Manchester, Edinburgh and London, the display will feature 49 uniquely-designed human form sculptures, each one individually designed by national and regional artists and designers to reflect the stories and contributions of key workers during this unprecedented time.

In the autumn, the sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for NHS Charities Together (Registered Charity Number 1186569).

Stories of Gratitude

Wild in Art is inviting people from across the UK to submit real-life stories and poems about key workers for a chance to be included in the Gratitude installation.

Visitors to the installation will be able to listen to stories and poems from adults and children, that pay tribute to all key workers, from doctors on the front-line to shopkeepers and delivery drivers, carers and teachers, via the Gratitude App and via the Gratitude website.

A selection of the stories will be recorded by a host of well-known voices including singer-songwriter KT Tunstall, Adil Ray OBE and actors Julie Hesmondhalgh, Ciarán Griffiths, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Christopher Eccleston, John Thomson and Shobna Gulati, to help us tell the story of this unprecedented time. Further names will be revealed soon.

Find out more and submit a key worker story for consideration via the Gratitude website.

Businesses and private individuals across the UK, are invited to support the creation of this very special and significant event, through sponsorship of a sculpture, which will ultimately raise funds for NHS Charities Together, whilst also creating unique business development, marketing, employee and stakeholder engagement opportunity.

Each sculpture will be uniquely designed by artists and designers from across the UK, curated in partnership with our creative ambassador Dame Zandra Rhodes.

The open call to artists has now closed and we look forward to revealing the selected designs in the summer.
