The Big Bag Trail raises £126,000 for Scottish charities

Iona Turner’s winning design

The Big Bag Trail auction was held on the 19th July with a special evening event at the Tom Morris Bar & Grill in the St Andrews Links Clubhouse.

Eleven sculptures from The Big Bag Trail raised an incredible £126,000 for Scottish charities Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) and Scottish Sports Futures.

Our very own Charlie Langhorne was the auctioneer and the night ended with an average sale of over £11,400.

In partnership with Wild in Art, St Andrews Links and Callaway Golf brought the free art trail to St Andrews in the lead up to the 150th Open to celebrate the Home of Golf.

The Big Big Trail began its life when budding artists from two local schools – Madras College and St Leonards – were commissioned by Callaway and St Andrews Links to design a St Andrews inspired golf bag that would be used by Callaway Staff Professionals competing at the 150th Open.

17 year old Iona Taylor’s sculpture won as the chosen design for Callaway’s July Major Staff Bag and was the highest sale of the night at £30,000.
