Overview

Hares of Hampshire, our first collaboration with the Murray Parish Trust, saw ‘larger than life’ brightly painted hare sculptures pop up at 30 separate locations from 16 June until 29 August 2022.

For 10 weeks, Winchester and Southampton’s streets, parks and public spaces were brought to life with an exhibition of these magnificent hares. Each giant sculpture was sponsored by a business and individually designed by local artists, showcasing the wealth of artistic talent the county has to offer – while positively contributing to the economic, cultural and social life of the area.

Schools and youth groups across Hampshire got busy creating smaller, baby hare sculptures, Leverets, as part of The Little Leverets Learning Programme and these were displayed alongside the larger hares.

At a grand auction, the large sculptures raised over £180,000 for the Murray Parish Trust to support Southampton Children’s Hospital.
