Pride in Bournemouth, 2011

In the summer of 2011, 51 Wild in Art lions pounced on Bournemouth. After the lions had spend their time being listed by locals and those who had travelled to see them, they were auctioned off to raise £75,000 for Julia’s House and the Born Free Foundation.

Seventeen Bournemouth primary schools took pride in painting their own little lions, while West Nairobi School one to send a touching message from Born Free that we all have to look after our lions. Sponsored by Thomson Airways, their lion was flown all the way back to the UK after his trip to Africa.
