The Haier Big Hoot 2018

A parliament of owls celebrates the uniqueness of the region and showcases the wealth of artistic talent in Aotearoa. They fly into Auckland’s streets, parks and open spaces to form a colourful trail of sculptures for residents and visitors to discover.

Owls are icons of storytelling – well known to represent wisdom, migration, diversity, learning and intelligence – and each sculpture shares a unique and meaningful story from the New Zealand community. They will ultimately raise significant funds for the vital work Child Cancer Foundation does to support children with cancer and their families when they need it most.
