Worcester's Big Parade

Worcester

Overview

A parade of colourful elephants marched into Worcester in summer 2021 to form the city’s second spectacular Wild in Art public art trail – raising funds for St Richard’s Hospice.

30 colourful elephant sculptures formed the free art trail along with elephant calf sculptures covered in artwork by students and community groups.

The auction of the large sculptures raised an incredible £368,800 for the charity which provides care for people with life-limiting conditions in south Worcestershire.

What they say…

I am so excited at the thought of a parade of elephants standing among Worcester’s iconic attractions, bringing colour and fun to the city.

Another collective name for elephants is a ‘memory’ and we hope our next art trail will bring people together to remember loved ones, while creating new memories.
